Ahhhh, Portmeirion. what an absolutely amazing and unique place to get married. A little slice of Mediterranean inspiration nestled between the woods and the sea. It really is the fairytale wedding venue. From stunning colourful architecture surrounding the central piazza, a stone colonnade with its large columns overlooking a giant chess board, to the stunning town hall containing the even more impressive Hurcules hall, the main ceremony room. This barrel-vaulted hall features dark wood panelling and mullioned windows and a stunning Jacobean ceiling, it really is one of the nicest venues for a wedding.
Not to mention the stunning gardens and woods complete with an exotic Japanese Garden with its pagoda and lily-covered lake, there are so many beautiful places for photo opportunities.
I have been photographing weddings here for over 12 years, in all weathers and all times of the year, everything from fireworks and sparklers at the end of the night, a chinese lion dance on the chess board and even a "Prisoner" inspired wedding. Each and every one was magical.
It doesn't matter if you are having a large wedding with lots of friends and family or just an intimate elopement wedding, Portmeirion really is the perfect backdrop to to get married. I am a documentary wedding photographer, I like telling your story as it happens, capturing all those beautiful moments , those little looks from each other, the fun moments and also the emotional ones throughout the day, the ones that really tell your wedding story.
Please have a scroll down and view a collection of photos from various weddings shot in the village over the last 5 years, a nice mix of couples photos, candids and details
