KATIE & GARETH - A LLANGOLLEN WEDDING
Back in the summer when the sun was shining, there was not a hint of rain, the ground was dry and the air was warm, Katie and Gareth got married.
This sounds like the start of a wonderful story. And of course, it is.
The Llangollen area is such a wonderful part of Wales to go to, just the drive down the A5 is amazing. The sunshine was streaming through my windows as I headed to meet up with Katie and I knew it was going to be a fantastic day.
The girls were getting ready in Katie's mum's house, just up the hill from the church and only a stone's throw from the venue. This was truly a Llangollen wedding.
The girls were in fantastic spirits and I had such a laugh taking photos of them all getting ready, it was so relaxed and Katie was even finishing off some of the decorations for the venue. We even had a few emotional moments while Katie's dress was being done up. I love it.
I then headed off to Trevor church, two minutes down the road. This beautiful but tiny church is nestled in the trees overlooking the valley below.
Gareth and the boys arrived and had a great time putting on the button holes and doing a few photos before retreating into the church to await the arrival of his bride to be.
Katie was escorted down the aisle by her brother and the ceremony proceeded. The small church made everything so close and intimate. After the rings were exchanged, certificates signed and confetti had been thrown, Katie and Gareth headed off up to Panorama walk. As the name suggests, the views overlooking Llangollen and the 13th century Dinas Bran castle were stunning and the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. katie and Gareth romped through the bracken and even stood on the edge of a cliff for a few photos, surrounded by hills and sheep, these two young farmers were in their element.
we then headed off to the venue for the reception. Tower hill barns a 250-year-old converted cattle barn is beautiful, complete with oak beamed dining hall, spacious grounds and even an old railway bridge, I can't think of a better place for these two to have the reception on such a lovely summers day.
After the very amusing speeches, we headed back out into the evening light for some more photos under the railway bridge and around the grounds before starting the evening party with a wonderful first dance and more superb dancing when the guests invaded the dance floor.
Such a beautiful day with amazing people. Please scroll down and enjoy Katie and Gareth's amazing Llangollen wedding story.
