MINI BLOG - BRIDE AND GROOM.
For me, photographing a wedding is about capturing the whole day, all the moments, the details, the ceremony. It all makes up a story and without one part, the story is not complete. Part of that is capturing portraits of just the happy couple. I shoot most of my wedding's in Wales and we have no shortage of beautiful scenery to make a perfect backdrop. Quite often the couples will have an idea of where they want to go and may have booked the venue because of this. Quite often it will be outside somewhere with spectacular backdrops or in a beautiful garden at the venue.
I must admit, I find it hard if the weather stops me from getting outside with the couple to get those shots. I know it doesn't spoil the day, I just feel for the couple really, you have to find somewhere else inside or under shelter which is never as fun and not what the couple had imagined for their photos. I have on a few occasions gone back a day or two later, where the Bride and Groom have dressed back into their wedding attire and we have captured the shots they really wanted.
Anyway, back to the blog. Here are a few Bride and Groom portraits that have stood out over the years, some because of the scenery, others because of the light and colours, some just because of the way the couple are in the photo. I am not one for posing my couples, I prefer to let them just get on with it. With the occasional bit of direction and a great backdrop, the perfect picture can be easily captured. Enjoy.
