EMILY & ROB
An Abersoch wedding
Here is a little wedding I just had to share from last year. I was asked to photograph Emily & Rob's wedding down on the Llyn Peninsula. When I first met them they told me it wasn't a big fancy all out wedding day. Just a small, intimate family and close friends kind of wedding, all relaxed and no big fuss. The ceremony was in the lovely church at Llanbedrog and then they planned to head over to the sailing club in Abersoch for some drinks. They were not even having a wedding breakfast or evening do. Perfect for the documenary style of photography that I do. And What a fantastic day it turned out to be.
I caught up with Emily over at a family members house, it overlooks Abersoch and the views from up there are stunning. She was going to get ready with her bridesmaid and cousins. It was all so relaxed, infact, when I arrived they were just casually putting the confetti cones together, people were just wandering in and out and there was such a chilled atmosphere it was great.
After some getting ready shots and emily was in her dress it was time to head over to the church and meet up with Rob for a few photos with the other lads. He looked ever so slighly nervous but that's not a bad thing.
Soon enough the church was full and Emily arrived escorted by her dad. This beautiful church definitely feels smaller on the inside than it looks which added to the whole intimate feel of the the ceremony. After signing the register and walking smiling down the aisle, people headed over the road to the green for a few family photos and ice cream to cool down with, the temperature was rising.
The reception was at The Cove in Abersoch where people enjoyed drinks, canapes and a few speeches. The sailing club overlooks the beach and the plan, once everything was finished, was to head down to the beach for a few more group shots and spend a bit of time on the beach before people just went their own way . On such a warm afternoon though, it didn't take long before a few guests got in the water for a little swim, it would be rude not to really.
Once everyone had wandered off and it was just Emily & Rob left, we headed down the beach for a little walk in the beautiful evening light.
And that was where the day ended for me. Such a great relaxed day with fantastic people and so nice to do something a little different
