HEDDWEN & ANDREW
CARNGUWCH - A LLYN PENINSULA WEDDING
Carnguwch farm is nestled between the mountains down on the Llyn peninsula, such a beautiful part of Wales and the perfect setting for Heddwen and Andrew's wedding day. The plan was to marry in the lovely little Llwyndyrus Chapel just five minutes down the road. Then head back to have the reception in a tipi on one of the fields, just down from the farm house, so that is exactly what they did.
Heddwen and Andrew are such a lovely couple, they live in Liverpool, but I met up with them mid April for the first time on the farm, which is owned by Heddwen's parents. I had a lovely time chatting about the wedding plans. Even though it was freezing outside and snow was falling, I was already envisaging the perfect summer wedding day.
Fast forward to June and it was roasting, probably one of the hottest days of the year so far. I headed up to the farm house to photograph the girls whilst they were having hair and make up done. I love capturing the fun and laughter as people get ready, photographing all the details such as flowers and dress too. It's all part of the day.
It was time to head down to the chapel to see the boys, they were all in good spirits and Andrew wasn't too nervous, yet!
All the guests turning up were loving the super sunny weather, as we waited for Heddwen to arrive.
The ceremony was lovely, after some family photos and the confetti of course, we all headed back to the farm for the reception.
After a few more group photos and lots of candid shots of people enjoying themselves, Heddwen and Andrew went for a little walk around the farm. We headed to the pond for a few shots and also the old mill, the perfect place for a few intimate shots of the happy couple.
Being surrounded by hills, Heddwen and Andrew wanted some shots overlooking the farm. As the sun was dropping, we headed up and just managed to get the perfect sunset light, we did have to run up the field at one point, but it was so worth it. The views back down onto the farm where stunning.
The boys decided on a quick game of football before the dancing started which lasted long into the night.
Such a fantastic day with amazing people and some of the best light ever.
Please scroll down and enjoy the story as it unfolds.
