MINI BLOG - THE SPEECHES
For me, photographing a wedding is about capturing the whole day, all the moments, the details, the ceremony. It all makes up a story and without one part, the story is not complete. Part of that is capturing the speeches, what a great part of the day this is. Usually, the speeches happen after the meal, all the guest are relaxed, the drinks are flowing, the best man is sat waiting with a nervous look on his face, so is the groom, wondering if he is going to get a roasting from said best man. The father of the bride often starts the proceedings, this is when tears start to flow, I love capturing a bit of emotion. There is no escape from the camera here. Then the groom will get up and thank everyone, especially his beautiful bride. more tears follow. The best man usually finishes off the speeches by letting loose on the groom, always a great time to get laughter shots or even those head in the hands, embarrassed groom moments.
I think it will always be my favorite part of the day. So sit back, scroll down and enjoy a few moments from the speeches.
