I was back once again, to the beautiful Italian inspired village of Portmeirion, in North Wales. Having shot quite a few weddings here over the years, with all the colourful buildings and gardens, it never fails to inspire me. There are always new places to find and seeking them out is all part of the fun. It is such a wonderful backdrop for a wedding and this time it was Ffion and Alec who were getting married. I had already photographed them on a pre-wedding shoot on Anglesey and I was looking forward to photographing their wedding day. Arriving nice and early to the village, the light was gorgeous and the forecast was great for the whole day. I popped in to see the girls who were all excited and having fun getting ready. I snapped away for a while, before heading off to see the boys who were getting ready in Castell Deaudraeth, just up the road. Then it was time for the ceremony, the excited guests settled down in the lovely Hercules hall to await the arrival of the bride. After the beautiful and emotional ceremony, some laughing, crying and confetti, everyone went down to the hotel. Here we did a few group shots before it was time for the wedding breakfast. There were a few speeches, before Ffion and Alec sped off in the buggy to the Japanese Garden. This lovely area of the village is out of the way and really quiet in the evening, perfect for a little stroll and some photos. We then headed into the main village for a few more shots. Before we knew it, it was time for the party to start and guests joined the happy couple on the dance floor after they had their first dance. We were treated to an impromptu dance-off from the boys and plenty of other guests joined in the dancing too. Just as it was getting dark everyone was ushered down to the hotel again for a surprise firework display. Here ended my time in the village, it was an absolutely fantastic day. Gwenno & Ian got married in the stunningly beautiful village of Portmeirion and what an amazing day it was. This was my second visit of the year to the village and it never fails as a backdrop for amazing wedding photography. The weather held out and everyone had a fantastic day. I started the day off with some preparation shots with the girls, such a good vibe with plenty of laughter. I knew it was going to be a fun day. After some shots with the boys, it was time to make my way to Portmeirion. North Wales is such a small place really and it was really nice to catch up with a few familiar faces at this wedding, a previous bride and groom, plus plenty of friends. I caught up with the boys quickly as they were finishing off getting ready and then waited for Gwenno to arrive. The Hercules hall is a splendid room to get married in, the light from the huge window illuminates everyone in such a nice way, Ian and Gwenno had such a lovely ceremony. After lots of confetti and a few family shots, it was off to the hotel for drinks on the lawn. We managed a few more group shots and a quick walk before it was time to sit down for the wedding breakfast followed by some very funny speeches. As the evening draws out and all the tourists have gone home the village gets really quiet. Perfect for exploring all the nooks and crannies of the village to get some really nice shots of just the couple. It was then time to party, Ian and Gwenno enjoyed a wonderful first dance before being joined on the floor by the guests. Such a fantastic day in the company of great people. Please enjoy this small collection of shots from the day. If you like the look of my photography and would like me to shoot your wedding then please get in touch via the contact page
Llinos and Dewi got married. Oh yes. And in the amazing village of Portmeirion no less. It is such a lovely backdrop for a wedding and even though the weather was not super amazing and we had Showers on and off throughout the day, we still managed to get all the outside shots done in between the rain. This didn't dampen any ones spirits and everyone was on such a high all day. Llinos and Dewi are such a lovely couple and I am sure they both didn't stop smiling the whole day. The day started with some preparation shots, Llinos was very calm and also the boys were all very chilled when I popped down to get a few shots of them getting ready. After a Wonderful service in the beautiful Hurcules hall we did some group shots then Llinos and Dewi went off round the village for a nice walk to have some photos of themselves. After getting all the group shots done and everyone had eaten, the evening was then kick started with some great speeches. Then everyone moved back on up to the Hurcules hall to relax with a drink or 2 and lose a few chips at the casino before spending the night on the dance floor. What a superb day with fantastic people in a wonderful venue. Congratulations to Dewi and Llinos. Here are a few shots from the amazing day. I hope you all like this collection of photos from the day. If you liked what I did and would like to vote then please click on the banner below for the Welsh national wedding awards.
Congratulations to katy and Josh who were married in the spectacular village of Portmeirion. This has to be by far one of the best places to get married at. The scenery is beautiful and such a wonderful back drop for the photographs. I started as always by taking some shots of the girls getting ready, as the sun was shining and it had promised nice weather all day then people were in a fantastic mood, lots of laughing and plenty of banter. It was then off up the hill to the amazing Castell Deudraeth to meet the lads while they were getting ready. Once the lads were photographed it was back down into the village for the ceremony in the Hercules hall. After a beautiful and emotional ceremony we all headed down to the Portmeirion hotel where the wedding reception was taking place. After a few group photographs it was time to eat. More emotions and lots of laughing during the speeches, added to that a few drinks which made for a fun time taking a few photos of the wedding party, and after that katy and Josh had a lovely little walk around the village for some more photographs before the evening entertainment was started. A beautiful first dance led to more dancing with a great girls Aloud tribute from the "Girls who shouldn't be aloud". And the evening went on from there. Congratulations once again to Katy and Josh, Wishing you both the best for the future. I hope you enjoyed this collection of photos telling only a small part of the whole story. A full edit will be available in the CLIENT AREA soon.
