Well.......What can I say. This wedding was one of the loveliest and most unique wedding I have shot. I first met Emily and Nick last year when they were guests at another wedding I had shot. I went to see them and they explained what they were going to do, I was excited as I knew it was going to be very different to most weddings I shoot. They were getting married mid week at the registry office but the main event was a pagan ceremony by a lake and then a mini festival wedding party. First stop was the girls, they were getting ready at the family home, make up and hair to start with but then close friends were turning up to start the celebrations. The weather was not the best forecast I had seen, looking out the windows as it was raining heavily and more heavy showers in the morning over the venue was not ideal as it was a field with tents, wellies would be required today. This did not dampen any spirits at all, to be fair I don't think anyone cared. It would be what it would be and nothing could be changed. As the other girls arrived the party got under way and it wasn't long before Emily was in her dress. There was huge secrecy around the dress, only mum, and sister knew what it looked like and everyone else was left guessing. The plan was to do a dress reveal from behind a curtain, as it was drawn I don't think I have seen so many shocked faces at a wedding. There was shouts of and joy and plenty of tears, No one was expecting the dress Emily had chosen. It was then off to Parc Lleweni in the grounds of the Denbigh gliding club to meet up with the boys and have a look at the venue, I had previously been there with Emily and Nick for a look around but it was just a bare field, With the addition of the marquee and the teepee's transformed the whole place. I found the boys and grabbed a couple of shots with them before they made there way to the circle to await the bride. Emily arrived and made her way to the circle where her and Nick took part in a lovely Pagan ceremony looked on by friends and family. A short while later it was congratulations all round and time to start the party. Emily arrived and walked her way down a tree lined path to the circle where her and Nick took part in a lovely Pagan ceremony looked on by friends and family. A short while later it was congratulations all round and time to start the party. This was such a chilled event, lots of people just relaxing with a drink and chatting away. The weather was holding off but people had anticipated rain and there were plenty of wellies on peoples feet. After a while I whisked Emily and Nick off for some nice intimate photos around the area. A nice time for them to have a few minutes to themselves. We then did a few group shots and after that it was time for food. A mobile pizza oven had been brought in and people helped themselves to some lovely freshly made pizzas. It was then time for the speeches, everyone gathered around the fire to listen. There were laughs and tears as both the bride and groom, bestman and father of the bride stood and said some words. After which the band started to play and got everyone bouncing to some cool Irish music. It was always on the cards but we were lucky to only get one rain shower throughout the day, as the rain came down everyone ran for cover of the marquee, except for the bride that is, out she went, and seeing that, friends and family followed to dance in the rain. The kids loved it and continued to play in the mud. true festival fun and games. As the sun went down, people gathered around the fire and we were treated to an amazing fire fan display. It was then just chill and enjoy the banter and drinking around the fire. Congratulations to Emily and Nick, wishing you both all the best for the future. This was such a fun wedding with a brilliant festival element to it. I hope you all like this set of photos, a full set can be seen in the CLIENT AREA.
